SPECIAL NOTE RE: ‘BEST BEFORE’ DATE
Please note that insdie this Medley Pack the 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon & 2020 Cabernet Merlot have a ‘Best Before’ date of May 2024 & the 2020 Syrah – January 2024 on their labels – here’s why:
Wine generally gets better with age (not worse), but all wines do have a tipping point (in glass or pouch) where they will oxidise and become less desirable.
As the first people to put premium wine into our innovative pouches, we could not decisively say when deterioration may commence.
Although not a mandatory requirement with wine, when filling these wines, we decided to take the responsible approach and be over cautious and print a ‘Best Before’ date on the wine labels as 18 months (after the pouches had been filled) in the event that the wine started to oxidise/deteriorate.
All of the red wines from our first fillings 3.5 years ago are still drinking beautifully. We packaged the 2020 Syrah in June 2022, and the 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon & Cabernet Merlot in November 2022. We expect them to hold up as well as the previous vintages (same winery and winemaker), so they will be drinking well through until at least December 2025 (and most likely beyond).
We are continually monitoring the deterioration by measuring Sulphur Dioxide (SO2) And Dissolved Oxygen (DO) levels, and at this stage, they compare well with glass & screwcap.
We will NOT dispatch any wine that is in any way faulty/oxidised and are continually monitoring all of our wines, so rest assured the wine you receive will be drinking beautifully well beyond the date we (conservatively) printed on the label.

Just finished the medley box – six out of five stars 🌟 . What a fantastic way to “work” yourself through some very fine wines. They are all good (and I’m a wine snob) but what matters equally is the weight saving and transportability when I’m hitting the Canning Stock Route later this year. Just ordered some of my favs but in larger numbers. Can’t have only Jerry cans on the roof rack can ya?

Love the concept and so far the wines we have tried have been very good. Will definitely order again for travelling. The only reason I didn’t give this review 5 stars is that our Syrah pouch is past is best before date (Jan 2024 purchased in April) and the other reds have May 2024 best before dates

Re: the Best-Before dates. Please don’t worry about the quality of your wine over the next 6+ months as we will NOT dispatch any wine that is in any way faulty/oxidised. We are continually lab testing and monitoring all of our wines, so rest assured the wine you have received will be drinking beautifully well beyond the date we (conservatively) printed on the label.

With that in mind, and being a new packaging format, when filling our early batches, we decided to take the responsible approach and be over cautious and print (although not a legal requirement) a ‘Best-Before’ date on the wine labels as 18 months (after the pouches had been filled) in the event that the wine started to oxidise/deteriorate.
The good news is, we have had no such problems.
We constantly monitor the deterioration by measuring Sulphur Dioxide (SO2) And Dissolved Oxygen (DO) levels. At this stage, they compare well with glass and screwcap wines, and our wines are drinking beautifully well after the displayed date. We will NOT dispatch any wine that is in any way faulty/oxidised and will pull any wines from the market that show any signs of deterioration.
To alleviate any customer concerns, we have made some postcards that explain the situation and we’re putting them in any cases that may contain a wine with an approaching or exceeded ‘Best-Before’ date.
